APY is a guaranteed pension scheme for workers in the unorganized sector. Subscribers contribute monthly (based on pension amount and age) and receive a fixed monthly pension of ₹1,000 to ₹5,000 after 60 years. The government co-contributes 50% (up to ₹1,000/year) for 5 years for non-income tax payers.
